Sonas Children's Arts Festival is a community based festival established by Louisburgh Community Project in 1999. It takes place over one week in October, the culmination of a year round arts programme in partnership with the community 7 schools....

Swinford hosts Ireland's largest street festival, Siamsa Sraide (fun on the streets) on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. This festival of pageantry and dance depicts much of the culture and heritage of east Mayo. Highlights include open air dancing nightly to some of Ireland's best bands, as well as crossroads Ceili, Historical Walks and a Heritage Day. There is also a Children's programme and an International Busking Competition, which carries a prize fund....

Saint Patricks Day has evolved to become a week long celebration of Irish tradition and culture. The festival programme includes Concerts, Mayo Pub Tour, Fishing Competitions, Exhibitions, Table Quizes Exhibitions, Drama and a wide range of evening entertainment.

The highlight of the festival is the parade and with over 40 floats and many bands especially the Quaker City String Band who are celebrating their 20th year of participation in the event....
